Hi there! I'm Rachel Frendrup, Veteran Web Analyst and founder of Smart Analytics.
What is Smart Analytics? A fresh, innovative approach to analytics and optimization focused on empowering marketing professionals to confidently take action on analytical insights.
I believe what distingushes me as an analyst is my digilant attention to developing solutions that are accessible to their intended users through engaging them with analytics content that is relevant to their work in language that makes sense.
Smart Analytics is also a challenge, and I encourage you to hold me accountable for such a bold claim! That's the point. At the same time, I encourage you to be open to different methods of working if we are to create "smart" solutions together.
It's a relative term...
In September 2014, web analytics became fully integrated with marketing activities at Oticon when I transferred from IT to Marketing. A year later, I was joined by another analyst to meet increasing demand for analytics services.
Beginning in January 2011, my position at Oticon became dedicated to increasing the use of web analytics in Oticon's marketing activites and promoting data-driven optimization throughout the organization.
When Oticon launched it's first professional website in 2002, I became part of the newly formed web team. My primary responsibily was design but I also participated in web development and CMS implementation.
The days of glory for graphic designers! I worked with a great group of creative people producing everything from datasheets to large-format sales materials.
When I wasn't travelling after college, I was working for an agency doing various ad hoc design jobs and pre-press preperation.
From writing software specs to proofreading 1000 page technical manuals for ISO compliance, during and after college I took any job related to writing I could get my hands on.
The most interesting part of my work in biomedical research was related to the affects of different types of medication on cardiac arrythmia. A paper was published of this work, on which I am an author.
My original plan in life was to go to medical school. While I enjoyed the coursework, I evenutally decided that the practical application of medicine to not be the ideal career for me. So messy... in so many ways!
